Aluminium 5086 Coils are primarily made of aluminium alloyed with magnesium (4.0–4.9%), along with some manganese and small amounts of chromium. This non-heat-treatable alloy boasts exceptional corrosion resistance, especially in saltwater and marine settings. It has tensile strengths ranging from about 275–350 MPa and yield strengths between 125 and 275 MPa, depending on the temper, such as H32 or H34. The alloy also shows good fatigue resistance and formability, and it retains its mechanical properties even after welding, making it suitable for structural and flat-rolled applications.
