This alloy is heat-treatable and boasts impressive mechanical strength. The typical tensile strength ranges from 415–485 MPa, with yield strength around 250–430 MPa, depending on the temper. Elongation usually falls between 10–15%. While Aluminium 2014 offers good machinability, it has lower corrosion resistance, often necessitating protective coatings. It’s particularly suited for structural applications that demand both strength and precision machining.
